Respiratory Homeostatic Imbalances
Asthma: condition in which a person's airways become inflamed, narrow and swell, and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): A group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common conditions that make up COPD. Emphysema: lung condition that causes shortness of breath, air sacs in the lungs (alveoli) are damaged and creates larger air spaces. Bronchitis: Inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from the lungs, can be acute or chronic Tuberculosis: potentially serious infectious bacterial disease that mainly affects the lungs. Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria attacks the lungs and creates a serous cough.
