01
Trickster tale, in oral traditions worldwide, a story featuring a protagonist (often an animal) who has magical powers and who is characterized as a compendium of opposites. Simultaneously an omniscient creator and an innocent fool, a malicious destroyer, the trickster-hero serves as a sort of folkloric onto which are projected the fears, failures, and unattained ideals of the source culture.
A trickster is a character in folktales that usually appears as an animal who has human traits — like being able to talk. Trickster tales are used to entertain and often to teach lessons about how to behave and treat other people. First Nations people have used trickster stories to teach their children for many years. Tricksters are smart and they use their knowledge to play tricks or to try and bend the rules.

Why Anansi has 8 Thin Legs
Legend says .... Once upon a time, a long time ago, Anansi visited the Sky God. The Sky God liked him so much that he gave Anansi, and only Anansi, the gift of storytelling so that Anansi could spin stories about life on earth.
