Goal

Create a presentation to inform eighth-graders about Model United Nations (MUN). The main goal was to develop a fun and entertaining presentation, to motivate students so that they could be prepared for MUN in ninth grade. The presentation was elaborated via Genially and presented via Zoom due to COVID restrictions.

Global Context

Inquiry into identities and relationships.

Specifically focusing on human relationships including family, friends, communities, and cultures.

Research

During the research of this project, the main skill I developed was to “access information to be informed and inform others.”

This project had two research stages. During the first research phase, I had to learn how to use platforms to teach in a virtual modality such as Zoom and Genially. In phase two I researched the information for the presentation.

After finishing all my research I needed to start developing the presentation. I decided to make an interactive presentation. At the end I decided to develop it via Genially in a virtual escape room format.

Presentation

I developed my presentation during the Social Emotional Education periods of the eight graders. It was a complete success, alomst everyone loved the idea of a virtual escape room to teach a topic.

Conclusion

At the end my project was succesful. I managed to create a fun and interactive presentation where students could learn the basics of MUN. Now they can be prepared for next year.
