Universidad Nacional Abierta y a distancia (UNAD) Lic. En lenguas extranjeras con énfasis en inglés Methodology in foreign language teaching 2021

dESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE

The place where I did my internship was at the Proyecto Ombrella or Sembrando conocimiento, is a private foundation. The foundation is located between urban and rural areas. When the classes were face-to-face there were some work spaces or meeting centers, where there are 8 zonal centers, present in the following departments, Risaralda, Meta, Bolivar, Santander, Cundinamarca, Atlántico, Tolima and Valle del Cauca. Now regarding the sanitary emergency that is being experienced, the practice scenarios are online meetings or also known as virtual meetings through the zoom application. Based on the practice scenario, the approach used in this process is humanism, although it also involves a large part of constructivism due to the paradigm of this current, which is oriented by action based on the tools provided to students and the facilities it offers. In general, there is a humanist and constructivist current.

The Ombrella Foundation has six cycles, where the first to eleventh grades of high school are oriented. As such, I am in cycle III where the sixth and seventh grades are oriented, this practice was oriented in all areas of knowledge, also as support to the institution students were chosen, in this case I chose 2 students corresponding to cycle III, where there was an accompaniment with them in terms of reinforcement and leveling of the topics that were oriented in the different meetings via zoom on Thursday and Saturday afternoons.

Computer Assited Lenguage Learning CALL

Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is often perceived, somewhat narrowly, as an approach to language teaching and learning in which the computer is used as an aid to the presentation, reinforcement and assessment of material to be learned, usually including a substantial interactive element..

Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) studies the role and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in second/foreign language learning and teaching. It includes a wide range of activities spanning materials and courseware development, pedagogical practice and research.

Characteristic

The area of CALL relates to the use of computer in language learning process. In the trend of learning language there are many different materials that can be taught through CALL programs such as, grammar, speaking and pronunciation, writing, and any other required skills. It can also provide feedback which is considered to be a crucial feature in any pedagogical practices.
