Introduction comparative

Any sentence that is compared is called comparative and in English it can be seen to compare differences of two different objects found in the sentence and is modified as (smaller, larger, player).

Introduction superlative

Sentences in the superlative are used to describe any object of the sentences that is in the upper end or is higher or lower than any such as (the smallets, the tallest, the fastest) this type of sentences are used only to compare a group of objects.

Examples comparatives

  1. My car is bigger than my friend's.
  2. This movie is longer than I have ever seen.
  3. You eat faster than Joel.
  4. The bird flew higher than the roof of the building.
  5. There are several foods, but I like hamburger better.

Examples superlatives

  1. The court is the longest than the normal ones.
  2. The parking lot is the smallest I have ever seen.
  3. Bolt is the fastest runner than any other track competitor.
  4. The bus is the largest in the area where he lived.
  5. The bars of the Eiffel Tower are the strongest in France.

Grammatical structure of comparativ

Name (subject) + verb + adjective in comparative degree + than + noun (object).

Grammatical structure of superlatives

Name (subject) + verb + the + adjective in superlative degree + noun (object).
