his ambition. His ambition made the other senators and government officals fear what Caesar could become. Caesar could become a tyrant or worse, a king. The people of Rome feared the thought of another King to rule Rome because of what the past kings had been like. The whole reason the Republic was formed was to prevent one man from ruling with all the power. This was the main thought of why assassinating Caesar was the only option.

The Roman economy was largely sustained upon grain and wine. A large portion of the Roman population grew grain such as wheat and barley while the upper class people were artisans and tradespeople. The Roman economy was also very volatile and unstable. The economy especially suffered during The First Punic war and many other wars, skirmishes and major internal and external conflicts. The Romans also very rarely used currency, although it depended on the current leader or emperor. During the end of the Roman Republic the economy was very unstable and suffering from coin shortages. During the Roman Republic, trade was very lucrative. The Romans traded with many different countries and empires such as the Chinese and Indians. Overall, the Roman Republic’s economy was very lucrative and unpredictable eventually leading to its economic downfall.

Article Detailing Caesar's Death

Brutus and the other conspirators were afraid of what would happen if Caesar had stayed in power for years to come. Caesar had recently been named dictator for life which means that he would be the ruler of Rome till the day he dies. A handful of senators and Roman politicians feared this because they feared Caesar would soon turn Rome into a dictatorship or an empire of some sort where Caesar had all the power. They decided to put an end to his reign before it was too late. Therefore they killed him and ironically by killing Caesar, Octavius soon came to power and named himself Emperor.

Julius Caesar died a painful and bloody death on March 15, 44 BC, otherwise known as the Ides of March. Caesar was stabbed 23 times on this day by a group of people known as the conspirators. The conspiracy was primarily made up of Roman senators and other politicians with ties in the Roman government. The main conspirators of the plot against Caesar were: Brutus, Cassius, Casca, Decius, and Cinna to name a few. A total of about sixty conspirators were there when Caesar was assassinated at the foot of Pompey’s statue, Caesar’s own past rival. His assassination took place at the senate where Pompey’s statue was held. The cause of Caesar’s assassination was the fact that

Character Profile: Caesar

Caesar’s importance to the play is not so much the actual character, but the before and after of his death, the fallout of it. Caesar was described as a charismatic leader who was turned on because he presumably aimed to become the dictator of Rome, which the conspirators deemed it better to kill him than to let him live.

Caesar is a well-built man who was the Emperor of Rome before his death in the middle of the play. His friends and allies from the senate murdered him, including Brutus, which shocked Caesar so much that he exclaimed, “Et tu Brute? Then fall, Caesar!” He was betrayed by those he trusted most. He is not the main character of the play, despite having the play named after him.

This political cartoon shows Caesar about to meet his death, as he is standing, giving a speech (as indicated with his outstretched arm,) he is unaware as to the knife coming at him. The image is supposed to show how Caesar was unaware of the danger looming over him during his last few days. The knife is a representation of the conspiracy, edging closer and closer until it takes Caesar's life.

womans hands as they thought it would bring fertility to them. During Lupercalia, the men would often draw a woman's name from a jar and would be with them for the duration of the festival. These people would often stay together in marriage after the festival.

festival is to honor the she-wolf for taking care of Romulus and Remus. It’s also said that the festival pleases the Roman fertility god Lupercus. The places the ancient ritual’s occurred were: Lupercal Cave, on Palatine Hill, and a public place called the Comitium. The festival first started at Lupercal Cave and the Roman priests would sacrifice one or more male goats. The priests then smeared their foreheads with the blood of the goats and would then wipe the blood off with milk soaked wool. The Feast of Lupercal would begin after this and after the feast the priests would cut strips of the goats wool off the goats body and would then run aroundPalatine whipping

The Festival of Lupercalia is often associated with Valentine's day, however, the Festival of Lupercalia is a lot more extreme than our traditional Valentines day. The Festival of Lupercalia was held every February 15 and the whole point of the festival is to ward off evil spirits, prevent infertility, to honor the founder of Rome, Romulus and Remus, and to honor some of the Roman gods. The origin of the festival dates all the way back to Romulus and Remus. Romulus and Remus were the founders of Rome and they were thrown into a river to die when they were just babies. They were found by a she-wolf who nurtured and took care of them. Part of this

The top image was supposed to be of a horse and chariot participating in a chariot race, the image invited the viewer to come to view it in person. This was chosen because Rome's beginning was marked with a chariot race, meant to distract the Sabines. The middle image is that of a stand, advertising public baths. This was simply chosen due to public baths being a staple within ancient Rome. The bottom image shows a crossbow, saying that there's a new model. This was chosen because, during the time of ancient Rome, crossbows were common use in war.

Caesar or Brutus: Who Should Lead Rome?

The Questions That Need Answering.

It’s not just a risky move, it’s a fatal one. At least if Caesar is in power, you know that he has enough experience to manage, even if he doesn’t make the best decisions. Brutus has zero experience taking charge when Caesar is murdered, granted he did learn later on in the play how to take charge, but Brutus had no idea at the time if he could - or would - take up the mantle as leader of Rome. It was a childish decision that he should murder Caesar, especially since the scramble for power that would soon follow.

Caesar and Brutus, who would be the better leader of Rome. On one hand, you have an experienced ruler, and on the other, a friend of the experienced ruler. Brutus has shown during the play that he cares greatly for the people of Rome, going so far as to kill Caesar because he was a bad ruler, however this does not mean that Brutus has any experience in ruling, so saying that Brutus would be a better leader than Caesar is like putting all of your eggs in a basket that currently has a fox in it.

Article Highlighting Women in "Julius Caesar"

The main two women that are important to the play are Calpurnia and Portia. Calpurnia is the wife of Julius Caesar and Portia is the wife of Brutus. In the play, these women are used to develop the plot and for a foreshadowing effect. When Julius Caesar tries to leave his house to go to the senate on the Ides of March, Calpurnia makes an attempt to stop him. She does not want him leaving because she had a dream the night before displaying a statue of Caesar with blood running out of it while Romans smile and bathe their hands in the blood. Calpurnia takes this dream as a sign of danger for Caesar.Shakespeare uses this dream of Calpurnia’s to foreshadow

what will happen to Caesar in the future. Portia is displayed as a strong independent woman. Brutus and Portia have a strong relationship that is built on trust and Portia noticed that Brutus was hiding something from her. Brutus refuses to tell her because he knows it is confidential. Portia then displays her strength to Brutus by stabbing herself in the thigh to show Brutus her strength. Brutus then tells her the plans for Caesar’s assassination and she fears for Brutus because she ends up killing herself later on in the play which adds on to Brutus’s burden.

News From The Front Lines

They went into detail about what Caesar had them do apart from fighting in battles, that being burning the homes of citizens and attacking those that resisted, all in the march to Rome, to take the city from it’s empire and secure Caesar as the sole Consul. Despite all the things Caesar made them do, the soldiers did not agree with leaving a gap in power, which caused the power struggle that led to the head of the conspiracy, Cassius, to die. According to the soldiers, this was a foreshadowing of what was to come, the head of the conspiracy died because of the conspiracy.

The Controversial Takes From Military

In a shocking state of events, the men from the front lines agreed with Caesar’s death. Apparently, Caesar had made the armies attack their own citizens of Rome, terrorising and slaughtering his own people in an attempt to get the upper hand over Pompey. Ultimately, Caesar won, as evident that he was alive and ruling over our Roman Empire until not too long ago. The men kept reiterating how glad they were that he was dead, however they expressed remorse for slaughtering their Roman brethren.
