Meanings
Modal Verbs / Modal Auxiliaries / Auxiliaries
Can: ability or inability
May: future posibility
Might: future posibility
Will: future plans or predictions
There are more modal verbs. We will focus on these now, and study others later. We may find other meanings for these as well.
I can speak English. (I am able to speak English.) He can't swim. (He isn't able to swim.) Can you dance? (Are you able to dance?) WHAT can we do? It may/might rain. (Maybe it will rain; maybe it won't.) I might/may not go. (Maybe I won't go; maybe I will.) Might it rain tonight? (What is your prediction?) NOT MAY here! WHAT may/might happen? I'll see you tomorrow. (I plan to see you tomorrow.) The movie won't (will not) be crowded. (I predict the movie won't be crowded.) Will you buy a tent? (Do you plan to buy a tent?) WHERE will they go?

Rules of thumb
Modals come BEFORE the SIMPLE form of the verb. Modals CANNOT be changed.
Will / Won't MIGHT NOT and MAY NOT (NO contraction).
