Introduction to jack
We believe Jack Will is a very interesting and developed character. Jack becomes friends with August very early in the book and accompanies him throughout his days at school. Everything changes on Halloween when August overhears Jack talk bad about him behind his back.
Jack's Impression
To us, Jack seems like a nice boy but can be under the influence of peer pressure and feeling like he has to fit in with the others by making fun of August. One of Jack’s most meaningful traits, one that really stands out to us, is how he can accept his mistakes, apologize and make up for them honestly and sincerely.

Usually, Jack is a very light-hearted and humorous person who isn’t very serious and is more playful throughout the book. We first see Jack as a genuine friend to August, he doesn’t shy away or stare at him like others.
He starts the book a little two-faced; by this we mean we never see the real Jack until Halloween, r at least this is one side to him. At the start, we also see someone who is a very good person and a really great friend, but on Halloween, we see his meaner side, the side that talks bad about August. After Halloween we find that there are a lot of mixed feelings about the character Jack Will, you find that he isn't what we thought and that we were disappointed by the way his character is turning out.
Jack's Character Development and Growth
This is until we see Jack stand up for August. We truly see Jack’s character; someone who helps a friend, stands up for them, and, altogether, is a good person. Through the book Jack has changed in a good way, he has learned to stand up for others and to ignore peer pressure. His character has changed for the better through the story.
Jack's Character Development and Growth
In The End...
Jack Will at the end of the book is light-hearted, funny, and overall a good person. We find that over the course of the book Jack learns some valuable lessons and his character has developed in a good way. He has learned what it means to be a good friend and to have good friends. From this quotation, we can infer that Jack acknowledges his mistakes and apologizes genuinely to August. He truly feels bad and is honest about his actions. In addition, Jack learns that it is okay to say what you really think instead of sitting by the sidelines listening.
“He’s a jerk. But I was a jerk too. Really really really sorry for wat i said dude, OK? can we b frenz agen?”

What We Learned
From Jack’s experience, we have learned to take up our mistakes and learn how to move on and grow from them. Jack’s character development has also taught us to stand up for our friends and not to accept peer pressure.
Thanks!
