Brief History of Oveta Hobby
Oveta Culp Hobby served as the first commanding officer of the Women's Army Corps and was also the first Secretary of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. Apart from her contributions to Texas and the U.S. as the commanding officer and secretary, she paved a path for women. She set an example that encouraged women to fight for freedom and helped attain equal rights for women in the future.
