who is the weeknd?
The Weeknd is the nickname of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. He is 31 years old. He was born on 16 February 1990 in Toronto, Canada. He lived in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto. His parents were immigrants from Etiopia. They moved to Canada 1980. They didn't have much money and his mother made two works for allow him to go school. Abel has never known his father, bacause he abandoned his mother at his birth. He went to school in West Hill and then to Birchmount Park in Canada. He didn't get any diploma, because he left school in 2007, when he was 17. So he started writing songs when he left school. Now is one of the famous artist in the world.
His career
He started to write songs when he was 17. In 2010 he met Jeremy Rose. They became a group "The Weekend", but after 2 years Abel started him singular career, he left the group and he changed the name in The Weeknd. In 2013 he published his first album " Kiss Land". He didn't have many success, but he carry on. In 2015 he published the second album "Beauty Behind the Madness" and he started to became very popular. With this album he started to climb rankings. After only one year, he published the third album " Starboy". He was more popular then before and he get the first position in Spotify. In the same years he organised a Tour called " Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour". In 2020 he published the fourth album " After Hours". This album is very popular and it has a lot od success all over the world.
Blinding lights
The song we choose is Blinding Lights. It was published in the last album of the artist "After Hours". We choose this song because we like it so much, it's wonderful. Actually we don't like so much this artist because we listen other type of music, but this song is good and we like it. This is the most popular song of the artist. It has had billions of views,over 2 billions. This song is about "a goodbye of love" that must never arrive, because without "her" life would have no sense. This is a declaration of true love in which he explains that he has understood the importance of a boundless passion, in which he will do everything to preserve it
