The story
In 1943, a girl worked in a Jewish Grocery. She was very appreciated and she was the girlfriend of one of the sons of the owner of the grocery. But everything changes when the German army invades Przemsyl. The Diamants (the Jewish Family) are forced to go into the ghetto. Stefania and her six years old sister Helena are the only one of the family who are uncaptived. They are alone in an occupied city and Stefania has to take care of Hele na. And then comes the knock at the door. Izio's brother Max has jumped from the train headed to a death camp. Stefania and Helena make the extraordinary decision to hide Max, and twelve more Jews.

She is the little sister of Stefania. She's also a young girl who helps her sister to hid jews.
He is one of the son of Mrs Diamant. He will go to Stefania's house to hide himself.
She is the hero of the story. She hid jews in her house and took care of them.
My OPINION
I loved this book because it's well written and the plot is gripping and powerful
I think that the biggest problem is the beggining. Effectly, it's too long and it was difficult to enter in the story
The book made me think of "August 61" by Sarah Cohen-Scali because this book also talks about the SHOAH.
