Natural regions of the world
A natural region is a space or surface of the Earth that has similar characteristics in its climate, relief, flora and fauna.
Natural regions are associated with the main types of climate: Tropical, dry, temperate, cold and polar.
Within the natural regions we find:
- Jungle
- Sabana
- Desert
- Forest
- Tundra
- Meadow
Jungle
The jungle biome
Mainly it houses an extensive amount of species in flora and fauna in addition to being characterized by housing large and tall trees.
Rainforests contain the most important habitats on the entire planet. It is the biome with the greatest biodiversity on the planet, found mainly in areas with a tropical climate.
Sabana
The most representative landscape is a large flat area with low vegetation and few trees. With a dry climate and intense seasonal rainfall, which temporarily turns the region into abundant green pastures each year for food for large herds of animals.
Desert
The characteristics of the desert are easily identifiable as it corresponds to an arid soil where temperatures are extreme and rainfall is very scarce. In reality, the desert biome is the driest of all, with a practically bare landscape where the absence of vegetation is palpable. These are particularly hostile media!
Forest
Around a world we have a large number of forests that are mainly characterized by having a large number of trees with a diversity in species of flora and fauna that makes this biome really a visual spectacle and one of the most important for the planet's Biosphere.
Tundra
The terrestrial tundra ecosystem is one of the coldest biomes on the planet.
These regions, compared to other biomes, are quite unknown given that their geographical location is far from humans and difficult to access, both due to the relief and their weather conditions.
Meadow
The meadow or natural field is defined as a biome that is characterized by a tapestry of medium and short height grasses and small bushes whose relief is generally natural and undulating with meandering rivers between its hills.
Equatorial Region
It is located in the central area of the Earth coinciding with the equator, therefore it is the area that receives the most solar incidence. It is characterized by:
- Low pressures
- Abundant rainfall
- High temperatures
- Jungle domain
- Savanna domain
Mediterranean Region
It is geographically located on the western coasts of the great continents and results from the combination of the oceanic climate towards the poles and the desert climate towards the equator.
- Rain is not usually too abundant
- On average, the climate registers temperatures around 20 ° C throughout the year.
- Low-rise vegetation predominates
Deciduous tropical forest region
They are those forests located in the temperate region of the planet. They are composed of plant species that lose their leaves during the fall, in order to survive the winter and sprout during the spring.
