Para describir situaciones, acciones, eventos, etc. que se llevaran a cabo en el futuro.Hay dos formas de expresar el futuro: Las formas “will” y “going to”. A veces son intercambiables, pero a menudo pueden tener significados diferentes.

Usos

Se usa “going to” para planes concretos, cuando estamos seguros de que algo va a suceder.Equivale a “ir a” en español.

"Will" vs "Going to"

Como vimos con anterioridad, "will" y "going to" en ocasiones son intercambiables, pero a veces pueden tener significados diferentes. Veamos las siguientes comparaciones:

Creamos la forma afirmativa del Futuro Simple de la siguiente forma:Sujeto + will + verbo en infinitivo

"will + not"

Para formar la forma negativa con "will" procedemos de la siguiente forma:Sujeto + will + not + verbo en infinitivo I will not tell you what I know! She will not let you go with me.

Negative Form

To be + not + "going to"

En el caso de "going to", creamos la forma negativa agregando "not" al verbo to be.Sujeto + verbo to be + not + going to + verbo en infinitivo I am not going to eat that thing! We are not going to the movie theatre.

Para formar la forma interrogativa con "will" procedemos de la siguiente forma: Will + sujeto+ verbo en infinitivo Will you tell me what you know? Will She not let you go with Mark? Will you marry me?

En el caso de "going to", creamos la forma interrogativa de la siguiente forma:Verbo to be + sujeto + going to + verbo en infinitivo Is she going to come or not? Are we not going to the movie theatre? Is that medicine going to help you sleep?
