Poem: The Rose that Grew from ConcreteBy: Tupac Shakur Speaker: Tupac Shakur

This is Tupac. Tupac was a poet and an artist. He wrote many songs in a new kind of way but his life was cut short in a drive-by shooting.

Tupac wrote this poem that describes his life growing up and how he became successful.

Did you hear about the rose that grewfrom a crack in the concrete?Proving nature's law is wrong itlearned to walk with out having feet.Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,it learned to breathe fresh air.Long live the rose that grew from concretewhen no one else ever cared.

I believe that this poem is saying if you do not put your dreams on the back burner, you might someday achieve them.

In this line, the rose represents Tupac, the concrete represents his rough childhood growing up, and the crack represents essentials like food, water, and home that the plant needs to grow.

He learned by reading Shakespeare that even without help you can learn to talk, walk, communicate, and have power and emotion

Tupac focused on his dreams in spite of it being very difficult because he lived in the hood around violence, went to jail, and was around drugs. The fresh air represents him succeeding and then continuing to grow and succeed more
