We can help!
Do you have a game idea, and you want to explore the options of working with our students?
What do we do?
Yearly
Every academic year, students of the courses Game Development, Game Graphics Production, Independent Game Production and Sound Design work in teams of 5 on a game project Students from the courses VFX and 3D animation cooperate on a film project
30 projects
WHEN do we do IT?
We start mid September and end mid December. Students will work 11 production weeks on the project. 4 days / week students will be on campus in "the Hive", in close collaboration with supervisors and coaches
HOW DO WE DO IT?
Prototype
Production
Polish
In the first three weeks in close collaboration with the client, a prototype is developed
Then the students start making the game, the actual product gets produced
In the last two weeks, nothing is added anymore, what we have is polished to professional quality
An example
For the open-air art expo "CONTREI live" students developed a promotional puzzle game illustrating and incorporating the different sites of the expo

Get in touch
Send an us e-mail and we'll contact you to setup a meeting where we can discuss your project, see what the options are and how we can fit it in the program.
Register
In collaboration with our team, we'll fill in a project proposal with detailed information about your project, the goals, hardware requirements and contact details. As soon as this proposal is submitted, your project is registered as a candidate.
Student projects
Students submit their own projects too. They need to present their project in front of a jury, if selected they can work on their own project.
Selection
We usually have more project proposals than we have student groups. Our team makes a selection based on the received proposals. All selected projects will be executed.
Contract
When selected we sign a contract regulating insurance of hardware, transfer of IP and a small fee to cover our costs The size of the fee depends on your company size, starting at 500 euro
Presentation
In the week before the start of the first semester, all clients present their project to all the students. Afterwards, students choose their top 3 projects. Based on that data, we divide the students into groups for each project. So it is important that this presentation clearly illustrates the proposal, to make sure you have motivated and well-informed students on your project. The week after, we start!

Good to know
ReSULT
The result will be a so-called "vertical slice" or maybe a demo or prototype of an actual full product or game. In 11 weeks with students in training we cannot hope to achieve a fully working, tested, market ready product. It is therefor good to think what will happen with the result?
DAE Studios, the spin-off accelerator of the Digital Arts & Entertainment program, can help you with the aftermath. With the talented start-up game developers in the DAE Studios network, the result of the projects can be translated into a game / application that can be used for you with a result commitment. Michiel Houwen is happy to discuss the many possibilities during an initial exploratory meeting. Organizations such as the Colruyt Group, Living Tomorrow, Sport & Exercise, Fluvius and the National Lottery have already completed such a process with an output that all parties were always satisfied with. Students who initially worked on the project are also involved where possible.
You take over
If you have the team to continue production of the product yourself, we simply hand over all the source files and you're on your way. You also might consider to have the product implemented completely by one of the many Belgian game studios
Disclaimer
These are projects executed by students during their education. They have the right to fail the course and as such we cannot guarantee there will be a result. If a project would fail, the fee is reimbursed. On average, one project each year yields no results.
