Modal verbs
English modal verbs are a small class of verbs that are used as aids to another main verb in a sentence.
Its most important feature is that between the modal verb and the main verb the "to" is not used. For example, with the common verb "to want" we would say "I want to go.", But with the modal verb "can" the correct one would be "I can go.", Without the "to" in the middle.
