Melanie Adele Martinez (born 28th of April 1995) is an American singer-songwriter, screenwriter, director, actress, and photographer of Dominican & Puerto Rican descent.

She first auditioned for the American television vocal talent show The Voice and became a member of Team Adam. She went to quarter-final but unfortunately Melanie being eliminated.

K-12 Movie is discribed as surrealist dark comedy musical. Melanie worked on the hair, costumes, direction, and editing. She also has a main director with producer Michael Keenan. The story is sequel events from Crybaby character - main character from her song and album named "Crybaby"
