cultural hybridization has been existing for a long period of time, especially in singapore where we are very diverse in cultures and ethnicities. Thus, it is no surprise that we are home to the exclusive rendang burger, which was created by McDonalds in 2019.

this burger is a good example of cultural hybridisation in the form of food, as it was created by mixing elements of two cultures. the beef patty is dipped into a rendang sauce, originating from the malay community. it is then put into a burger, which is a western type of food. this unusual fusion makes this burger special as it is only available in singapore due to its large malay population

my review : i personally liked this burger because the rendang sauce has a sweet and savoury taste, and the fried egg is a nice touch that gives a more local feel to the burger.
