Destructive Fishing Practices

What are Destructive Fishing Practices?

Where is this Happening?

mostly in underdeveloped countries which dont have regulations for fishermen to follow

Affects on the coral

Destructive Fishing practices are practices that leave marine populations irreversibly damaged and can destroy entire habitats for fish and other organisms. They can consist of:

  • Bombing in water
  • dragging nets on oceanfloor

All coral can be affected by this problem,It completely destroys the coral reefs almost instantly. If possible it probably years years to recover but chances are slim

what can you do?

Solutions!

Global:Have every country sign an act saying they will outlaw destructive fishing practicesU.S.:Have a federal law that you can't bomb, or spread nets or use cyanide to fish Colorado: as a state could support and enforce other states to not use those practices

Be aware! And help fight the way we fish from harmful to safe
