Format: Reaction papers follow a structure to be formal, descriptive, and makes use of rhetorical devices.

Significance: Diary entries are personal in significance.

Form: Diaries are the complete opposite as they use less formal language, description, and no requirement for the usage of rhetorical devices.

Significance: Reaction papers are more societal.

Form: Reaction paper is more formal and descriptive while also using rhetorical devices of description and narration.
