Imitationism

Imitationalism is a theory of art that give prominence on judging artworks to see how it really looks. Imitationalism is an art of imitating or recreating an already established art.

Representationism

Representational artwork aims to represent actual objects or subjects from reality.

Formalism

Formalism describes the critical position that the most important aspect of a work of art is its form – the way it is made and its purely visual aspects – rather than its narrative content or its relationship to the visible world.

Expressionism

Expressionism refers to art in which the image of reality is distorted in order to make it expressive of the artist's inner feelings or ideas.

Aesthetic of Hedonism

Aesthetic Hedonism is a theory which states that a thing is beautiful if it gives pleasure to the person experiencing it, otherwise it's ugly if it gives you pain.

Functionalism: art is defined by purpose(s) that make successful art valuable.

Action Theory
