Bioaccumulation caused biomagnification occured in an insecticide known as DDT. DDT is an insecticidethat was sprayed within the u.s. before 1972 to control the populations of insects .Levels of DDT were too much that the birds' eggshells became too thin. As a result, the birds broke the shells of their unhatched offspring and the infant birds died. Their numbers decrease greatly.
