what is it?
Inversion - what? how?
An emphatic structure that is placed at the beginning of a sentence. The subject and the verb are inverted, using auxiliaries - to be chosen according to the verb tense.

Negative Adverbs
* little, never, rarely, scarcely * no sooner ... than, barely/hardly.... when * at no time, under no circumstances. on no account
* not since, not for, not a (person/thing), not only.... (but also)

What is Fronting?
Fronting is an emphatic grammatical tool. It involves moving elements of a sentence to the FRONT. Remember this is the most prominent position in the sentence - it attracts all of the reader's attention
WE do this to : * start with the most important info * make an emphatic contrast with the previous sentence
