Lesson Goals
At the end of the lesson I understand the past simple, double genitives, and modifiers (A2).
At the end of the lesson I know the difference between every past simple form, and can apply past simple correctly into sentences (A2).

Past Simple Irregular Verbs
verb + ed
no -ed at the end of each verb in actions that happened in the past. How do you know when a verb is irregular (onregelmatig)?

when the verb ends in consonant + -y, we change the -y to -i and add -ed

Double Genitive Form and Usage
Double Genitive
1. noun znw + of + possessive pronoun/adjective bezittelijk vnw/ bijvoegelijk nw (mine, yours, his, hers, ours, yours, theirs)
Garfield is the cat of his.
2. noun znw + of + possessive adjective bezittelijk bijvoegelijk nw (my, your, his, her, our, your, their) + noun znw + possessive 's.
Mr van den Hoff is a teacher of my sister's.
- Two possesives (bezittelijk vnw) together in the same sentence to clarify the relation of the possessions (bezittingen)
Modifiers Form and Usage
Very & Really ('erg')
Quite ('een beetje')
It is very cold outside. Some parts in Mexico can be really dangerous.
My room is quite small.
- To add more information about an adjective (bijvoegelijk vnw)
- To make an adjective (bijvoegelijk vnw) stronger.
