What is an adverb?

DEFINITION

"a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation with the adjective/verb/adverbs and frequency, manner, time, place or degree. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there)."
