May Cortés left to fight against Pánfilo de Narváez in Veracruz. Pedro de Alvarado and the Spanish massacred the Mexicas at their festival. June Cortés returned to Tenochtitlan with Narváez's army. Then, Moctezuma was killed, and the Spanish left the city in the Night of Sorrows (Noche triste).
