Reflexive Pronouns
What are they?
- They are pronouns that end with -self or -selves. - They give emphasis to the subject. - You use them when the subject is also the direct object Ex: Ana decided to buy a video game as a gift - Ana decided to buy herself a videogame The children got hurt in the park - The children hurt themselves in the park
I - Myself You (Singular) - Yourself He - Himself She - Herself It - Itself We - Ourselves You (Plural) - Yourselves They - Themselves
Note: The reflexive shouldn't come right after the pronoun, or else it will be redundant. For example: I think the news is true myself. - right I myself think the news is true - wrong
