INTRODUCTION

23rd April is widely known as World Book Day, as it commemorates important dates in the lives of two famous authors: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes.This year, we are going to concentrate on the figure of Shakespeare and we are going to work in groups investigating and analyzing different aspects of his life, the time he lived in and his works.

GROUP 1 - 2ºA

Look for information on the most important aspects of Shakespeare's biography.- When and where was he born? - Where did he spend his childhood and younger years? - Was he married? Did he have any children? - Did he ever work as anything other than as a playwright? - Did he move anywhere within the country / abroad?

GROUP 2 - 2ºA

Your task is to find the most important events in the life of William Shakespeare and make a timeline. Also, find out about when most of his literary works were written/published.Apart from including the basic information (year + event), look for a picture that can illustrate your meaning.

GROUP 3 - 2ºA

You need to find out when Shakespeare was born and when he died, and which English monarchs were in power at the time. After that, your task is to look for information about the most important events that took place in Europe and Britain during those times and make a timeline. Remember to include some pictures to illustrate your timeline.

Many of Shakespeare's plays were performed in the Globe Theatre in London. A new theatre was built in the 20th century. Look for information and describe the distribution of the different spaces in the building and how plays were performed there.
