The job market in the UK and US

In Britain and the United States, nearly 40% of teenagers get most of their pocket money from odd jobs. But some teenagers work long hours so sometimes they have trouble keeping up with their school work. That’s why you need laws to limit working hours...In Britain and North America, teenagers are allowed to start work at 7am, so they can work before they go to school! In Britain, teenagers between 13 and 15 are allowed to work 2 hours a day on school days, and 5 hours on Saturdays. In America, teenagers aged between 13 and 15 can work up to 18 hours a week during the school week. And they can work 8 hours on Saturdays. British teenagers can work 12 hours per week during school terms, but they can work 25 hours a week during the holidays. On school days, American teenagers under 16 can work up to 3 hours a day. But when there’s no school, they can work up to 40 hours a week. In the UK, teenagers over 15 can work 35 hours a week, no more. But in the USA, there are no limitations for teenagers over 15, so they sometimes do too many hours, and they’re exhausted. Teenagers in the UK are usually paid between £4 and £7. In the USA, the federal minimum wage for teenagers is $7.25 per hour.
