"art does not heal, it transforms pain into something universal"
she is an italian contemporary artist, born in Génova where she established her studies in architecture and linguisti; later on, she moved to milán to study desing in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, years went by and she finally moved to new york where she works and is currrently living

vanessa´s work is inspired by life problematics, and art that compares life meaning, she says that she took the esthetic of her work to the 14th and 15th century painting.
she dedicates her work to performance, sculptures and photography and all of them using the women´s figure, in most of them they have a cold and distance look, not many clothes and walk with no course as if they were mannequins or dolls, this to represent how society have imposed the standarts of a perfect women.
talks about the hostage between women and food; how this is perceived by everyone, there are 30 women on the table, some of them are eating, some of them are not, some of them are dress and some others are not, the performance consist in eating vanessa´s diet (food served by color) while the audience wasn´t allowed to eat while the group were interacting with the food.
