What is Infinitive?

The infinitive is the base form of a verb. In English, when we talk about the infinitive we are usually referring to the present infinitive, which is the most common.What are the baase forms of the following? *are watching *opened *has done *were playing *will phone

Find the Infinitive with or without 'to'.

  • I bought milk to make ice-cream.
  • I want to buy an MP3 player.
  • It's nice to be back home.
  • It's too late to visit them now.
  • She's old enough to drive a car.
  • I'd love to go to the cinema.
  • You should call your mum.
  • Let's go to the beach!
  • I'd rather go to bed.

The Gerund is a base form of the verb + -ing. In English Gerund can be in defferent parts of a sentence as a subject or an object.Examples *go swimming *Playing games with friends is great *My friend hates cleaning her room *I'm good at doing nothing
