SPONGES, CNIDARIANS AND WORMS

Sponges are the simplest invertebrates. They are aquatic and live attached to rocks beneath the sea. They cannot move about. Their sac-like bodies are full of pores

Worms have got long, soft bodies. They haven’t got legs. This group of invertebrates includes very different animals. Earthworms live in the soil, but other worms live in water, for example, fireworms.

Most of them live in the sea. Jellyfish are cnidarians. They move about in sea currents. They have got jelly-like bodies that look like umbrellas. They have got poisonous tentacles

Most starfish have got five limbs, called rays. They move along the seabed using hundreds of tiny feet at the bottom of each ray

Sea urchins are round in shape. They live on the seabed. They have got spines to move with and to protect their bodies
