1972-1973
The team went heavy on the mustard in the early 70's, sporting primarily mustard uniforms with brown lettering and accents. The infamouse "Taco Bell" hats also debuted — which lasted through 1984.

1974-1977
"Padres" takes a cursive style on the team's home uniforms, with brown and yellow an accent on white jerseys. Away uniforms are gray from 1974-75, before being brown in 1976 through 1984.

1978-1979
The team continued to toy with yellow, brown, and white in home uniforms. "San Diego Padres" remained on both home and away jerseys in 78, but "San Diego" was removed from home jerseys in 79.

1985-1990
Goodbye yellow. The team's home and away jerseys welcome in pinstripes and stick to brown and orange. The team also brings in a new hat and debuts the "SD" logo.

1991-2000
Blue and orange lettering with pinstripes lasted as the home jersey for a decade, with away jerseys being a plain grey slate. In the late 90s, a blue base home alternate joined the lineup.

2001-2003
Blue and orange with pinstripes becomes an alternate, while main home jerseys are blue on white. After the 2001 season, the team nixed pinstripes and removed orange after 2003.

2004-2015
The Padres brought in a new logo with their new field at Petco Park. The team's home plate-shaped logo features a wave of dark and light blue. "Padres" is also in a new font. Military alternates are first worn as well.

2016
The Padres ditch their stylized logo and celebrate All-Star game hosting duties with a base "SD" home jersey. For the first season since the 80s, the team brings back brown and yellow jerserys for throwback games.

2017-2019
The Padres revert back to a white base home jersey with blue lettering, though styled much sharper than the flowy logo that welcomed Petco Park to downtown.
