Norman Rockwell

Norman Rockwell, born in New York on February 3, 1894 and died on November 8, 1978 in Stockbridge He is famous for having illustrated the covers of The Saturday Evening Post magazine from 1916 to 1963

Whatever work he has done

Moving in

Freedom from want

The runaway

in the middle we can see a young girl of color walking with notebooks and a ruler in her hands

on the left we can see two white men dressed in suits and ties with police badges walking in front of the little girl

at the bottom you can see a tomato exploding from the impact on the wall further down

Paint description

on the right we can see the same men as on the left

My comment

for me this painting denounces the segregation because thanks to the elements of this painting we can deduce that the tomato was thrown on the little black girl because she did not respect the "border" between for example -the street for white and the street for black -the school for white and the one for black That's why there are policemen who accompany her to her home
