What´s a cartoon?
A cartoon is an illustration or a series/sequence of drawings that convey humor, fun and entertainment. The characters and the environment that surrounds them are drawn in a non-realistic or semi-realistic style. Cartoons can appear on many ways of publications, like, comic books, newspapers and magazines. A cartoon, also be animated.
History of cartoons
The beginning of the cartoons took place a few years ago. Cartoon publishers first appeared during the Protestant Reformation in Germany in the early 16th century, trying to spread their ideas to a largely illiterate population. On May 9th, 1754, the first political cartoon was printed by Benjamin Franklin in The Pennsylvania Gazette, in the USA. The first animated cartoon was "Fantasmagorie", that was created on August 17th, 1908, by Émile Cohl with 700 drawings. For me, Disney is the most popular entertainment industry among people of all ages. Walt and Roy founded Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in Hollywood, California, on October 16th, 1923.
DO A CARTOON INFLUENCE IN EDUCATION?
The cartoons have the possibility to help children in a educational way, because, some of them teache the numbers, vowels or the alphabet and a little bit of music. In the same way, teache some values for your life.

- Pluto (the dog of Disney) originally was to be called "Rover".
- The Asteroid 12410, was named as Donald Duck in 1995.
- Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first major feature-length animated film.
- Donald Duck's middle name is Fauntleroy.
- The most expensive animated film was 1998's The Prince of Egypt, which cost $60 million to film.
- The longest running cartoon is The Simpsons, which began in 1987.
- In 1937, Popeye was the first cartoon character to get a statue in his honor. It´s in Crystal City, the spinach capital of the USA.

Woody Woodpecker´s Show
This cartoon is my favorite, because it´s super fun see how Woody Woodpecker and in some chapters Chillie Willie get in trouble, you can enjoy all the adventures that they have and it´s a family show. My parents told me that I saw it from day and night, they bought me CDs with the most of the new and old chapters and I never got tired of seeing them.
Woody Woodpecker is an animated character created by Walter Lantz and originally designed by cartoonist Ben Hardaway. The main character is an anthropomorphic animal, it´s similar to the shape of a human being. The first broadcast on television was in 1957. Characters:
