Why do we Forget dreams?

Some people believe the average person goes through four to six dreams per night while others say we experiance three to five. Some even believe that we can have seven different dreams in one night! But how many dreams we experience vairys every time. Now, you may be thinking, "what do you mean we dream more than once?! I thought one dream lasts a whole night since I only remember one!" You probably will only remember one dream in a night, or maybe two if you are lucky. Your actually not supposed to remember any dreams at all! The only reason that you may remember some is if you wake up ebruptly, by an alarm clock, irregular sleep schedule, a nightmare that has caused you to awaken, or other. 95% of dreams are forgotten.
