1. We use Saber to express or describe what we know "how to do" by following it with an infinitive. Only Saber can be followed by an infinitive.Yo sé montar a caballo. Jessica sabe bailar la salsa muy bien.

2. We use Saber only when talking about facts and information. We can use it to explain, that we know the "what-when-how-why-whos” of situations and events. Ellos saben cuándo es el concierto. Yo sé que la tienda está cerrada. Mauricio sabe de béisbol

Only Saber can be followed by a question word (qué, cuándo, dónde, quién, etc.) These are words that introduce facts. Yo sé dónde queda la tienda. Matina sabe cuándo es el exámen de español. Sabemos quién es Plácido Domingo.

conocer
We use Conocer when we talk about someone we know or places we are familiar with. (To be acquainted or thoroughly familiar with a person or thing).When we talk about "knowing" a person, we have to remember to use the Personal "a". Conozco a María. Conoces bien San Francisco. Nick conoce un restaurante italiano buenísimo.

We also use Conocer to talk about general concepts or subjects: Conozco la poesía del Siglo de Oro. Ella quiere conocer tu país. Conocemos sus actividades.
