There are 4 basic past tenses to revise:*Past Simple *Past Continuous *Past Perfect *Past Perfect Continuous

Past Simple -czas przeszły prosty

V+ -ed (V2) Czasownik z końcówką –ed (regularne) lub w formie 2 (nieregularne) Np. I created a new TV programme. I wrote a letter to my friend yesterday.

Pytania Did + osoba + V1 Did you finish your project?

Przeczenia Osoba + DIDN’T + V 1 I didn’t eat breakfast today because I didn’t have enough time.

Time expressions

YESTERDAY – wczoraj LAST week, month, year – w ubiegłym tygodniu, miesiącu, roku 2 weeks, months, days AGO- 2 tygodnie, miesiące, dni temu

PAST CONTINUOUS

Używamy kiedy mówimy o czynności przeszłej, która trwała przez dłuższy okres czasu

Os.+ WAS/WERE + V-ing Np. I was driving home when I saw my neighbours.

PYTANIA WAS/ WERE + os. + V-ing What were you doing yesterday in the evening? PRZECZENIA Os.+ wasn’t / weren’t + V-ing I wasn’t helping my mom but I was skiing in the mountains.:)

PAST PERFECT - czas zaprzeszły prosty

Os. + HAD + V3 Np. I had taken a beautiful sunset photo before it got too dark to do it.

PYTANIAHAD + os. + V3 Had you finished your meal before the dessert was served? NEGATIONS - Os. + HADN’T +V3 I hadn’t written the return letter yet when the postman brought another one.

PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS

Czynność wyrażona tym czasem trwała przez dłuższy okres czasu, aż do momentu wystąpienia innej czynności przeszłej.

HAD BEEN + V-ing Mary had been working on a computer when her husband came back home.
