BULLYING!!!

It's more than just a fight or disliking someone. It’s being mean to someone over and over again. Bullying is an ongoing or repeated misuse of power in relationships, with the intention to cause deliberate (on purpose) psychological harm. Bullying behaviours can be verbal, physical or social. How can you protect yourself bullying?

Utku: Ignore mean comment When you heard some mean words like “you are ugly, stupid. ” You can ignore them to avoid more mean comments. Ignoring them doesn’t mean you are afraid of them. You can choose to tell teachers you trust or parents about it if the comments bothered you. They will provide advise to help you. If bullies still do this, you can just listen to them and calmly ask them why. Usually bullies don’t have an actual reason and will stop it when faced with honest dialogue.

Kerem: Stop bullying To avoid it, practice some common-sense habits like limiting the content you post online and keeping your information secure. If you are already dealing with a bully, do everything you can to limit your interaction with them. If you are concerned about cyberbullying in your community, connect with others to take a stand against it and offer positivity instead.

Ömer: Run away from physical bully When you meet physical bully, please run away instead of fighting back. This is done for your own safety. If bullies run after you, you can run to public places with many people around. Once if you can’t get away, defend yourself. You can learn some simple but powerful techniques to help defend yourself when necessary. But do not hurt bullies once they give up fighting or you will be a bully too.

Haktan: Block and report The best reaction to cyberbullying is to exclude the offender from your world. You don’t have to let them repeat the offence – block them. While ‘telling on’ people is strangely taboo, you should report the behaviour. Remember, they will likely be doing the same to other people too.

Poyraz: Stay with friends No matter which kind of bully you may meet, it always helps to have friends with you. You can talk with your friends what you think about those mean words, also bullies will hesitate if you have a group of people.

  • Think before making every post online, and avoid making posts that can have a negative effect on your reputation.
  • Learn what cyberbullying is and what behaviors are involved in cyberbullying.
  • Avoid putting inappropriate photos online because they can be the fuel that cyberbullies use.
  • Messages from unknown people without opening them.
  • Avoid opening messages from known bullies.
  • Treat everything and everyone with respect.
