HOW DOES SAND TURN INTO CRYSTAL?

Glass is a material that was created from elements of nature such as sand.

It is the MIXTURE of silica sand, caustic soda, and lime

These components are sent to a factory or production plant and placed in special furnaces where they are melted at a temperature of 600ºC. The result is a semi-fluid mixture (similar to lava).

This mixture is worked by stretching and contracting it like chewing gum, depending on the temperature with plates and coils, forming a glass sheet.

When it reaches 600ºC it has already hardened, but until it reaches 80ºC it cannot be cut.

At that temperature it is marked and cut with a tool that is made of "Tungsten Carbide" and is called FALSE DIAMOND.

This creates smaller sheets of different sizes so that they can be handled and transported.

Now they can be converted into windows, mirrors, shop windows, etc.Leftover or broken parts are thrown back into the oven and nothing is wasted.

Crystal is a type of glass that is prized for its beauty and strength, and this is so because lead is added to it.

There is a technique that is used to make smaller, functional, decorative and ornamental objects such as glasses, glasses, jugs, vases. Etc., by creating bubbles in the molten glass. It's called glass blowing.

The most important properties of glass are: It is transparent It is translucent It is waterproof It is resistant to environmental conditions and chemical agents Its hardness (does not scratch easily) It is fragile (it breaks easily)
