What you should know about QUIZ in iTa'leem?

Introduction

  • Question bank: create, preview, and edit questions in a database of question categories.
  • Categories: categorize your question items
  • Question items: each item to be used in a quiz
  • Quiz: a set of question items

Question Bank

  • This feature allows us to create, preview, and edit questions in a database of question categories.
  • The categories can be limited to being used on the site, course or quiz level.
  • The questions in a category can be added to a Quiz or to a lesson activity via an export process.
  • How to access question bank?
    • Course administration > Question bank
  • For each category, you can:
    • delete
    • edit
    • move up
    • move down
    • make child

Short Answer

In response to a question (that may include an image), the respondent types a word or phrase.

There may several possible correct answers, with different grades.

Answers may or may not be sensitive to case.

Numerical

  • From the student perspective, a numerical question looks just like a short-answer question.
  • The difference is that numerical answers may have an accepted error.
  • This allows a continuous range of answers to be set.

| Tips

  • It is recommended to use randomized questions and also shuffle the questions and its options.
  • Always review the marks for each question items and the total marks for the quiz.
  • A good strategy is to group question items with the same marks in the same category, if you anticipate to randomize the questions in the future.
  • You may set backup quiz for a particular student to access

| General Tips

  • Use descriptive (meaningful) label for each question item
  • Use descriptive categories for all your question items
  • Always review your question by previewing the question
  • Check that the mark(s) and answer(s) are accurate.
  • You can provide explanation for the correct answer.
