Chris & Susan Rozzi,
the Rozzi Family Legacy Fund
Chris and Susan Rozzi wanted more for their kids – more space, more neighborhood
friends, and more diversity. So in 2004, they packed up their family and moved to
Brownsburg, where they found everything they were looking for. Not only was the
Brownsburg school system excellent, but they also found the cultural and racial diversity
they were seeking in their neighborhood.
They immediately got involved in their community, and Susan volunteered as a tutor in
the Brownsburg schools for the next 13 years. In 2005, Susan joined the Community
Foundation as Assistant Director, overseeing the grant and scholarship programs and
communications and marketing.
"We love this county, and we wanted to find a way to give back, not just now, but forever."
— Chris Rozzi

COMMUNITY UNITY
Inclusivity, Diversity,
Equity, & Accessibility
Launching our community needs assessment in 2019, we knew we had a challenge ahead of us to engage communities of color. Hendricks County is 16% nonwhite, even though many of the rooms we’re in don’t reflect that diversity. To be honest, when quoting that number, you see shock on people’s faces. So, as we pushed our survey, the number of nonwhite respondents continued to lag far behind the Census data. Reaching out to organizations across our county for help, we received the same response, “We struggle with that too!”
