Irregular verbs don't follow the classical rule about ED. They have got their own form for the simple past. The 1st part of the verb is the INFINITIVE FORM The 2nd part of the verb is THE SIMPLE PAST The 3rd part of the verb is THE PAST PARTICIPLE
