Who is he?

Joe Bastianich, born in the Big Apple on September 17, 1968 ( Virgo ), is known to the Italian public for the TV show MasterChef, which he decided to leave after the 2019 edition. Joe and the restaurant world have always been one and the same. she inherited the passion for cooking from her parents : her mother, Lidia, is a cook and, together with her father, she ran two restaurants: Buonavia and Villa Secondo .Cooking wasn't Joe's only passion. In fact, when he was very young, he always had a great nose for business , so much so that he even ventured into the stock market as a Wall Street broker . It was he who encouraged his parents to invest in the Becco restaurant , which was a huge success - so much so that it even appeared in the very famous TV show Friends ! Joe is the frontman of the country rock band The Ramps (the "wild stinky onions" as he calls them). A project that absorbs him more and more: after his farewell to Masterchef (which he conducted for 8 editions), in fact, he has also set up an Italian tour and a CD .

After leaving Masterchef in 2019 Joe has not stopped conducting television programs where the protagonist was and is the kitchen. In 2020, in the midst of the lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic, the first edition of the Italian version of Family Food Fight aired. Family Food Fight is a talent show of Australian origin, where 6 families made up of four people compete in the kitchen to win the prize (which amounts to 100,000 euros in gold tokens). The program, conducted together with his mother Lidia and his friend Antonino Cannavacciuolo , was a great success and has been updated for a second edition, aired from 11 March 2021

Bastianich lived in Greenwich, Connecticut for many years. He now lives with his family in New York, his wife Deanna and their three children: Olivia, Miles and Ethan. He also owns two dogs, named Quattro and Vasco. In the summer of 2015 he resumed the activity of the Ricci restaurant in Piazza della Repubblica in Milan, with partners Bastianich, Belén Rodríguez, Luca Guelfi and Simona Miele, former owners of the Petit Bistrot in Milan and Miami. [4] [5] Passionate about music, he was frontman and guitarist of the US group The Ramps and, on 6 September 2019, he released his first solo single, Joe Played Guitar, for Universal, which preceded his first studio album Aka Joe, released on September 20, 2019. In 2020, a group of protesters destroyed one of its premises in Los Angeles following the controversy sparked by the murder of George Floyd by the American law enforcement agencies

In 1995 Joe Bastianich married the beautiful Deanna Damiano , with whom he had three children : Olivia, Ethan and Miles. The woman and the children live in the United States, Joe's hometown, while he settled in Italy for many years thanks to MasterChef. The distance between Joe and his family caused quite a few problems for the five and, also due to some alleged betrayals, Deanna would have filed for divorce in 2017. There are several women with whom he was paparazzi (and who made Deanna suffer): among these there is the ex Lollipop Roberta Ruiu , and Nadia Toffa with whom, however, there was a simple friendship. Unlike the now stage animal Joe, Deanna does not like to show off and appear on television: the couple has never released further statements on the divorce and even from Joe's Instagram profile it is difficult to find out any more details. In any case, there is not much information on the highly confidential Deanna : she has never approached the Italian show business.

Born in the city of Pula , back when the ' Istria was Italian, before the annexation of the city to Yugoslavia Tito . In 1956 , following the titine persecutions and the Istrian exodus , the Matticchio family moved in a daring way to Trieste . In the Julian city, the family settles in a refugee camp and Lidia's parents find employment with a wealthy family, where her mother Erminia works as a cook and her father Vittorio as a driver. A few years later, in 1958 , the family moved to the United States. She married Felice Bastianich in 1966 (from whom she divorced in 1997) and had two children: Joseph and Tanya. Specializing in Italian and Italian-American cuisine , she has written books and conducted television cooking programs since 1998. She owns several restaurants in partnership with her children. She was a guest of the US and Italian versions of MasterChef . From 2014 to 2015 she was a judge, with Bruno Barbieri and Alessandro Borghese , of Junior MasterChef Italia , before being replaced by chef Gennaro Esposito . In October 2020 his book "My American Dream" published by Solferino is also published in Italy. In November 2020 he participates in the 100per100 Italian Talks to talk about Made in Italy agri-food exports in the post-pandemic.
