Testing the Inverter

Testing the Inverter

If the VRF system has an Inverter/Compressor related fault such as 4210 or 4250 and the compressor tests out ok, the next step is to test the Inverter output The following sections of the course show you the preparation required, testing procedure and expected results from the Inverter test

Testing the Inverter - Preparation

When testing the Inverter output voltage a True RMS meter or an Analog meter should be used to gain an accurate voltage reading

Testing the Inverter - Preparation

Ensure the multi meter is set to AC voltage Also make sure the multi meter has suffcient battery power as inaccurate readings can be displayed when there is low battery power

Testing the Inverter - Preparation

Whilst testing the compresor, the Inverter cables were disconnected from the compressor and made safe in terminal block This terminal block will be the point at which the Inverter will be tested
