BINGE EATING
WHAT IS BINGE EATING?
You eat a lot of sweet or salty food, but you aren't hungry. Then you get sick, feel guilty and try to vomit it.It's the most common eating disorder.
WHICH ARE ITS SYMPTOMS?
- Secret behavior: You binge when you're alone.
- Food hoarding: you hide the food in your room.
- Lack of control: you have no power.
- You may eat less at lunch but binge eat at dinner, or at night
- No purging: you don't do things to get rid of extra calories, like make yourself vomit.
How can you detect its symptoms?
- DEPRESSION: binge eaters often feel depressed and sad
- STRESS: these people can't live with stress
- LONELINESS: they are lonely and can't talk about their problem
- they sometimes may abuse alcohol
It affects mostly teenage girls.
ARE THERE SPORTS THAT CAN LEAD YOUNG PEOPLE TO BINGE EATING?
No, but stress and intense training can lead to be more sensitive and weaker.
How can this disorder be treated?
TALK!
- Talk to your doctor, he/she will help you to find a specialised centre
- You can also talk to a psychologist, it can help to find the problem
- talk to your family and friends, they will help you with your problem
