Attack on Pearl Harbor

December 7, 1941

At 7:55 am 183 Japanese planes fired bullets and dropped many bombs over lots of american ships at Pearl Harbor (Hawaii).

December 8, 1941

With only 1 vote against, the US congress declared war to Japan. Also, the president prohibited young Japanese American to take part in the military. This law was changed again by Roseevelt in 1943.

May, 1942

Both American and Japanese planes clashed in the Battle of the Coral Sea. In the end there wasn't a clear winner but at least the US stopped the Japanese from assaulting 'Port Moresby'.

June 4, 1942

Japan planned a secret attacked and started bombing the Midaway Islands. The americans catched them and destroyed some of their aircrafts. These event is called 'Battle of Miday'.

August, 1942

Americans tried to invade Guadalcanal (a Japanese territory). This battle lasted many months, but in 1943 the americans finally took control of the island.
