We start an indirect question in this way:

Formation
Indirect question + direct question (statement)
DIRECT QUESTION: Where IS John? INDIRECT QUESTION: Can you tell me where John is? NOT: Can you tell me where is John? Can/Could you tell me…? Do you know…? Would you mind…? Do you have any idea…? Would it be possible…? I'd like to know
