According to the Diary of a Mad Mind: Ignorance is a refusal to learn and to try and understand viewpoints other than your own.
Ignorance vs Lack of Education
According to the My Mission blog: Lack of education is when people have a below-average level of common knowledge, produced by low income or absence of opportunities.
Last year
Pandemic
Pandemic has had a great impact in all sectors. One of the most affected is education for several reasons: - School shut down due to insufficient resources. -Income reduced in many families - Many can't afford the material needed for distance learning On 2020 at least 2.4 million mexican students dropped school. In 2021 it is anticipated that about 23.8 million children may drop out.
According to the UNESCO:
According to the UIS, in 2016, about 263 million students worldwide are out of school, and it hasn't changed in the last years. - Primary level 9% of children or 63 million - Lower secondary level 61 million - Upper secondary school 139 million
Upper-secondary out-of-school rate of 59% across the world’s low-income countries, compared to just 6% in high-income countries. One of the most common reasons of lack of education is poverty, because kids or adolescents quit school to work and help with the family economy.

Gender is a big issue here, women always have less opportunities to study. In places like sub-Saharan Africa, for every 100 boys out of school there are 123 girls denied the right to education. However, nowadays in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Northern America boys are more likely to be out of school to work.
