Waste reactions & kiln sections
Learn more about each section
The drying section: Water contained in the solids is vaporised under high temperature atmosphere
The ash section: The solids don't contain anymore significant organic matter
The combustion section: The solids are transformed into gas which burns with the oxygen
Liquid and gas wastes reactions principle in rotary kiln
Animation
high calorific value liquid
For (example: solvants), the reactions are vaporization and combustion.
For high and low calorific value liquid mix, both combustion and vaporization can take place
low calorific value liquid
For (ex: contaminated water), the reaction is vaporization.
Some typical throughputs in a rotary kiln :
- Solid waste: 3 to 5 t/h
- Low Net calorific value liquid waste: 1 to 3
- High Net calorific value liquid waste: 0 to 1
- Maximum batch load for LNCV liquid: 30 Kg
- Maximum batch load for HNCV liquid: 15 Kg
